Artist: Yoshino107
Titel: DIALOGUES
Catalogue No.: aYo 101

Release date: 03. May 2024 (CD & Tape) & 16. May 2025 (Vinyl)

In February 2024, Yoshino107 recorded his composi:ons for violin solo in the incredibly good-sounding rooms of Essen's Erlöserkirche - solo and with guests:
Stephanie Bosch (Bansouri), Azad Çiçek (Baglama), ESTE (Banjo & Electronics), Simon Cama2a (Percussion). DIALOGUES is available on CD, limited Vinyl and limited (50 copies) and hand-numbered casse2e.

Yoshino107 about his music:
I play self-composed music with my violin, which is rooted in the Bach tradi:on, but moves in structures similar to those of minimal music (Steve Reich) and is inspired by the Swiss Zen Jazz musician Nik Bärtsch and the Düsseldorf neo-classicist Hauschka. I want to give a music that, beyond free jazz and free improvisa:on, always seeks a form, is beau:ful in sound, medita:ve and evolves in dialogue with the audience and itself. The audience should feel comfortable and par:cipate in the music and the process.

Prof. Dr. Jens Schröter about DIALOGUES:
Yoshino107 doesn't just play the violin. And he doesn't just play with his guests. He also uses the looper as a musical instrument. Small sound atoms are recorded, repeated and modified live in the process of playing. This leads to unpredictable feedback from Yoshino107 with himself - and with his guests. The result is a dense mosaic of repe::on and difference, a texture of con:nuous modula:on in which the melodies are woven. The music between the music - with this beau:ful term Yoshino107 has aptly described his sound prac:ce. The surfaces of the looped passages are very carefully sampled, in ever new a2empts. You are hypno:cally drawn into the meshwork.
